places in the Missouri Ozarks, Missouri is rich in
history including the home of Jesse James,

family farm in Kearny Missouri near Kansas City Mo was purchased
by the county and is now open to the public, also
Kate "Ma" Barker born in Ash Grove Mo, Ash Grove is a farming
community north of Springfield MO, very peaceful and doesn't even
have a bar. The list goes on of the famous (good and bad) born in
Missouri.
More modern day
history here in the Missouri Ozarks are the beautiful rolling hills
and many lakes for vacations, fishing, boating, camping, ATV trails
etc. and the popular vacation town of Branson Mo, all located in the
Missouri Ozarks.

Missouri is named the nicknamed
the Show Me State, with many
things to see and do. Some are
historical, educational, and
recreational. With a state so
diverse, ranging from the major
areas of St. Louis and Kansas
City to the Ozark Mountains, the
lakes, rivers and streams,
Civil War Museum in Republic Mo;
The Wilson's Creek Civil War
Museum (formerly the General
Sweeny Museum) contains an
outstanding collection of
artifacts relating to the war
west of the Mississippi,
including the sword belt and
sash of Arkansas Confederate
General Patrick Cleburne, the
telescope of abolitionist John
Brown, and the flag of the
Confederate "Cherokee Braves."

Wilson's Creek was the first
major Civil War battle fought west of the
Mississippi River, and the scene of the
death of Nathaniel Lyon, the first Union
general killed in combat. Although
a Southern victory, the Southerners failed
to capitalize on their success. With the
exception of the vegetation, the field has
changed little and remains in near pristine
condition.
Famous
place in the Missouri Ozarks include is
Laura Ingalls Wilder home and museum in
Mansfield, Missouri.

Branson Mo is
also located in the southwest Missouri
Ozarks, 35 miles south of Springfield within
the heart of the Ozark Mountains.
Branson is home to 45
music theaters with seating for 75 to 4,000
people. Branson’s 56,228
theater seats are 12,000 more than on
Broadway in New York. The variety of music
includes country, pop, gospel, bluegrass,
western, rock n’ roll, classical jazz and
Broadway. There’s also comedy, magic and
variety staging that defy easy labels. Each
theater hosts from one to three different
shows daily. Collectively, they host more
than 100 shows and offer live entertainment
from early morning until late evening.
Three nice lakes are nearby, Table Rock,
Tanneycomo and Bull Shoals, each offer some
of the finest fishing in the nation and any
freshwater activity you can imagine. You can
enjoy boating, swimming, skiing, sailing,
sunning, scuba diving, parasailing and

Meramec Caverns located in Stanton
Missouri, is the largest commercial
cave in the state of Missouri.
Missouri is also known as the Cave
state, hosting home to more than
6,000 surveyed caves. A GREAT
vacation stop.
Explore the Missouri
caves, caverns and lakes while in the Missouri Ozarks, while the Missouri
Ozarks experiences four seasons, the winters are not long and severe
with only an average of about 7 1/2 inches of snow a year, while the
summers are hot and humid it does not last for days and days.

in southwest Mo famous for bass fishing, the first two are located
in central Missouri: Lake of the Ozarks, Harry S. Truman Lake, Table
Rock Lake near Branson, Stockton Lake, Pomme de Terre Lake, Lake Tanneycomo. You
can also find many smaller lakes around Springfield and southwest
Missouri.
